Did the title of this post catch your attention? I hope so! It definitely caught my attention the very first time I heard those four words. I was at a conference for my corporate job, and we were about to do a brainstorming exercise. And that was the title. But how does that relate to living your best life, dreaming of a life you love, and accepting yourself exactly as you are?
Last night on my Thursday Coaching Chat we did an exercise together to write down everything we could think of to create our Dream Life. And we used the principles of this exercise to help us with our lists. If you missed it, you can either check it out in our Facebook Community or just keep reading here and I'll walk you through it.
To set the stage I want you to get a piece of paper and something to write with or an electronic device to type out your list. I'm old school and prefer pen and paper but it works either way. Take a deep cleansing breath and think about your dream life. Remove all limitations from your mind. Nothing is holding you back. What does it look like? What do you see? What does it smell like? What tastes do get to experience? Who is in your life? Where are you?
Set a timer for 60-seconds and GO. Write down everything. Nothing is off limits.
When your timer goes off take a moment to look at your list. There's most likely nothing on there that is surprising to you. Now you're going to do it again. Except this time set your timer for 90- seconds. Write down everything that comes into your mind. EVERYTHING! And stop when the timer goes off. Review your list again. Anything jumping out at you? Set your timer again for only 30-seconds this time and write. Take a look over your list. What stands out to you? What is something you wrote down that you didn't realize you wanted? Do you see a theme?
I highly encourage you to take this list and make a vision board or a dream board. Post it somewhere you can see it. Do this exercise with the people you love the most in your life. Build your dream life together. Come back to this on a regular basis. Allow yourself to dream like a child. Allow yourself to connect to your inner child. Allow yourself to BE.
What's going in The World's Biggest Bathtub for you?
